We’ve been working for a long time on our outdoor showers.
We started with the showers and using a camp propane, hot water heater
Early this year, added a soaking tub with its own heater and a pump to recirculate for heating.
And this summer We finally got a surplus hot water heater added, and configured the propane and a wood stove to heat the hot water. Will also be adding a solar heating element to the mix, so showers will be able to be heated by three methods. And also looking to add wind turbines.
There’s a great YouTube videos of a guy who made a sand heater, using solar panels, and just simple heating elements, which are DC.
So using solar and wind to heat the water, and eventually our small sauna.
Rednecking engineering LOL. It’s all a bit rough right now because this is still experimental and figuring out what equipment and connections are needed. But as a proof of concept, it’s working great. Nothing like sitting out in the evening enjoying a shower, and then a long soak. By the way, the horse tubs are big enough to hold two people.
