House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.) said Thursday that he’d like to pass a bipartisan tax package before the end of the year.

Such legislation could include tax provisions that are due to expire at the end of the year, known as “extenders,” as well as some healthcare items, Smith said in an appearance at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C.
