UPDATE 15-Oct: The clarinet player has been retrieved from detention, and is home. There are court dates and upcoming meetings, but she is safe.
OCTOBER 11:
While playing Ghostbusters with a band dressed as bananas, at what was a peaceful protest yesterday in front of the ICE detention facility, a swarm of federal officers charged into the band, and pounced on top of our clarinet player, and arrested her and damaged her clarinet. She is a mother of a 3 year old who is still without their mother because they’re considering Assault charges against her! They also knocked over our drummer, bashing in his face, requiring 4 stitches in his lip. Then they teargassed all of us!
Everything leading up to this point was peaceful and joyous. More than 1000 naked people rode through on bikes while frogs and squids and grannies were dancing around us. They are the thugs. They are the ones being violent. They are the ones breaking the law. We are not deterred. See you at No Kings!
